Tempered glass vs. film: which protector?

Tempered glass protects better against drops and feels like your real screen. Film is thinner and cheaper, but it mostly stops scratches. For most people, we recommend tempered glass.

Which one is right for you?

Pick based on how you use your phone.

  1. Kids’ phones: Tempered glass plus a case with a raised edge. The case and glass take the hits so the screen doesn’t.
  2. Work phones: Tempered glass with a privacy filter, so people beside you can’t read your screen.
  3. Curved screens: Use film, or glass made for curved edges. Flat glass lifts at the sides.
Tip: Buy your protector in store and we’ll put it on for free.

Put it on without bubbles

Dust is what causes bubbles. Work in a clean bathroom after a hot shower, when the steam has settled the dust.

Questions

My phone has tough glass. Do I still need one?

Yes. Tough glass still cracks on concrete. A protector costs far less to replace than a screen.

Will it affect touch or Face ID?

A good one won’t. Cheap ones can block the sensors near the top of the screen.

Can I use a case with tempered glass?

Yes. Pick a case with a raised edge. Some tight cases push up the edges of the glass, so ask us for a pair that fits.

When should I replace my protector?

When it cracks, chips, or starts lifting at the edges.
